Moving Forward; Sitting Still: An Auto-ethnographic Study of Mindful Educational Leadership
MetadataShow full item record
This study focuses on using mindfulness and meditation to rediscover a sense of meaning and fulfillment in work. More specifically, the author shares how in engaging in a daily practice of mindfulness, she was able to adopt the attitude of a learner, develop a creative outlook, foster new ways of thinking, and cultivate a sense of centeredness and peace of mind in order to view her work in new ways. Further studies are warranted to explore ways in which mindfulness can be used to enhance the level of organizational mindfulness that may build resiliency in those within the organization.
