    Abstract
This notebook will help you make the poultry project a fun, interesting, and valuable experience for the 4 H youth you teach. The poultry project is a vehicle through which we can teach profitable poultry production practices and necessary life skills to young people. The lessons in this notebook are intended to be used only with groups. They are not designed for independent learning. These lesson plans target four general age groups: Level 1 - ages 7-8; Level 2 - ages 9-11; Level 3 - ages 12-14; Level 4 - ages 15 and older. The units are also based on corresponding skill levels of youth. Thus, a 12-year-old child enrolling in poultry for the first time should probably begin with lessons in Level 1, and not take Level 3 until he or she has mastered basic knowledge and skills.
