This bulletin deals with the control of two major orchard pests of Washington, the codling moth and orchard mites. Since control methods for mites have not yet been sufficiently investigated and further since such methods are closely bound up with those necessary for the codling moth, they will not be discussed separately. But so far as known the most satisfactory measures for their control by spraying are given in conjunction with spray mixtures for the codling moth in the chart attached to this publication . It is particularly important that the entire season's spray program be formulated early if mites are to be combated.
